Adjective of Number in Hindi And English

• Adjective of Number expresses the number of persons, things, or expresses their order. Like one, two, many, few, all, some, first, second, last, next, etc.
  संख्यावाचक विशेषण व्यक्तियों, वस्तुओं की संख्या व्यक्त करता है यह यह उनके क्रम को व्यक्त करता है। जैसे one, two, many, few, all, some, first, second, last, next, etc.

Types of adjective of number

Adjective of Number is divided into three parts.
संख्यावाचक विशेषण को तीन भागों में विभाजित किया गया है।

1. Definite Number Adjectives
2. Indefinite Number Adjectives
3. Distributive Adjective

1. Definite Adjective of number

• This adjective gives information about a definite number or sequence.
  यह एडजेक्टिव निश्चित संख्या या क्रम की जानकारी देता है। जैसे one, two, three आदि।
• Cardinals – One, two, three, etc. All these are called cardinals.
  जैसे one, two, three आदि। यह सब कार्डिनल्स कहलाते है।
• Ordinals – First, second, third, etc. All these are called ordinals.
  First, second, third आदि। यह सब ऑर्डिनल्स कहलाते हैं।
• Multiplicative – Single, double, triple, twice, thrice, etc.

Definite Number Adjectives examples

1.	There is one minute left for the train to arrive. ट्रेन आने में एक मिनट का समय बचा है।
2.	She is five years old. वह पांच साल का है।
3.	There is no prize for the second runner-up. द्वितीय उपविजेता के लिए कोई पुरस्कार नहीं है।
4.	She won first place in the competition. प्रतियोगिता में उसने प्रथम स्थान प्राप्त किया।
5.	I hired two single rooms. मैंने दो सिंगल रूम किराए पर लिए।

1. Indefinite Adjective of number

• These adjectives do not express a definite number or sequence.
  यह एडजेक्टिव निश्चित संख्या या क्रम व्यक्त नहीं करते है।
• Example- Any, all, few, some, several, many, certain, etc.
  जैसे Any, all, few, some, several, Many, certain आदि।

Indefinite Number Adjectives Examples

1.	I have some questions. मेरे कुछ सवाल है।
2.	I have enough friends. मेरे पास काफी दोस्त हैं।
3.	I liked most people at the party. मुझे पार्टी में ज्यादातर लोग पसंद थे।
4.	I bought some batteries. मैंने कुछ बैटरियां खरीदीं।
5.	I haven’t many books. मेरे पास ज्यादा किताबें नहीं हैं।
6.	She hasn’t much money. उसके पास ज्यादा पैसे नहीं हैं।
7.	He hasn’t many cars. उसके पास ज्यादा गाड़ियाँ नहीं हैं।
8.	I haven’t many chairs. मेरे पास ज्यादा कुर्सियाँ नहीं हैं।

3. Distributive Adjectives

• Either, Each, Every, Neither, etc, are distributive adjectives that express distribution.
  Either, Each, Every, Neither, etc, distributive adjectives है जो वितरण को व्यक्त करते हैं।
• These are describing words that refer to specific things out of a group.
  ये उन शब्दों का वर्णन कर रहे हैं जो एक समूह से विशिष्ट चीजों को संदर्भित करते हैं।

Distributive Adjectives Examples

1.	Each student gets a prize. प्रत्येक छात्र को एक पुरस्कार मिला है।
2.	Each of the two girls gets a prize. दो लड़कियों में से प्रत्येक को पुरस्कार मिला है।
3.	Each of the teachers is doing his work. प्रत्येक शिक्षक अपना काम कर रहा है।
4.	Either book is useful.
5.	There was water on either side of the highway. हाईवे के दोनों ओर पानी था।
6.	Every seat was occupied. हर सीट पर कब्जा कर लिया गया था।
7.	Every student gets a prize. हर छात्र को एक पुरस्कार मिला है।
8.	Every candidate was given a certificate. प्रत्येक उम्मीदवार को एक प्रमाण पत्र दिया गया था।
9.	Neither book is useful. कोई भी पुस्तक उपयोगी नहीं है।
