• An adjective is a word used with a noun or pronoun that adds something to the meaning of a noun or pronoun.
  विशेषण वह शब्द है जो एक वाक्य में प्रयुक्त Noun या Pronoun को विशेषता प्रदान करता है।

Example

1. She is a good girl.
   वह अच्छी लड़की है।
2. Alwar is a small city.
   अलवर एक छोटा सा शहर है।
3. He gave me five pencils.

1. Proper Adjective in Hindi
   व्यक्तिवाचक विशेषण

• Adjectives formed from proper nouns are called proper adjectives. Like Indian, African, European, etc. Indians are made from India, and Africans are made from Africa. India and Africa are proper names.
  प्रॉपर नाउन से बनने वाले एडजेक्टिव, प्रॉपर एडजेक्टिव कहलाते हैं। जैसे इंडियन, अफ्रीकन, यूरोपियन आदि। इंडिया से इंडियन, अफ्रीका से अफ्रीकन बने हैं। इंडिया एवं अफ्रीका प्रॉपर नाउन है।

2. Adjective of Quality
   गुणवाचक विशेषण

• The adjective quality describes a characteristic of a thing, person, or place. Like Honest man, a beautiful woman, a big city, a large building, a beautiful palace, a black dog, a white tiger, etc. These are also called defining adjectives.
  एडजेक्टिव आफ क्वालिटी किसी वस्तु, व्यक्ति, या स्थान की विशेषता बताते है। जैसे ऑनेस्ट आदमी, खूबसूरत औरत, बड़ा शहर, बड़ी इमारत, खूबसूरत पैलेस, काला कुत्ता, सफेद टाइगर आदि। इनको डिफाइनिंग एडजेक्टिव भी कहते हैं।
•  All the underlined words above are Adjective of Quality describing the characteristic of the respective noun. 
  ऊपर सभी अंडरलाइंड शब्द, Adjective of Quality है जो संबंधित नाउन की विशेषता बता रहे हैं।

3. Adjective of Quantity
   परिमाणवाचक विशेषण

•  Adjective of Quantity expresses the quantity of a Noun. Like Whole, Some, Enough, Sufficient, No, Full, Entire, etc.
  एडजेक्टिव आफ क्वांटिटी नाउन की परिमाण, मात्रा को व्यक्त करता है। जैसे Whole, Some, Enough, Sufficient, No, Full, Entire आदि।

4. Adjective of Number.
   संख्यावाचक विशेषण

• Adjective of Number expresses the number of persons, things, or expresses their order. Like one, two, many, few, all, some, first, second, last, next, etc.
  Adjective of Number व्यक्तियों, वस्तुओं की संख्या व्यक्त करता है यह यह उनके क्रम को व्यक्त करता है। जैसे one, two, many, few, all, some, first, second, last, next, etc.

Adjective of Number is divided into three parts.
Adjective of Number को तीन भागों में विभाजित किया गया है।

1. Definite Number Adjectives
2. Indefinite Number Adjectives
3. Distributive Adjective

1. Definite Number Adjectives

• This adjective gives information about a definite number or sequence.
  Definite Number Adjectives यह एडजेक्टिव निश्चित संख्या या क्रम की जानकारी देता है। जैसे one, two, three आदि।
• One, two, three, etc. All these are called cardinals.
  जैसे one, two, three आदि। यह सब कार्डिनल्स कहलाते है।
• First, second, third, etc. All these are called ordinals.
  First, second, third आदि। यह सब ऑर्डिनल्स कहलाते हैं।

2. Indefinite Number Adjectives

• These adjectives do not express a definite number or sequence.
  यह एडजेक्टिव निश्चित संख्या या क्रम व्यक्त नहीं करते है।
• Example – Any, all, few, some, several, many, certain, etc.
  जैसे Any, all, few, some, several, Many, certain आदि।

3. Distributive Adjective

• Either, Each, Every, Neither, etc, are distributive adjectives that express distribution.
  Either, Each, Every, Neither, etc, distributive adjectives है जो वितरण को व्यक्त करते हैं।

5. Demonstrative Adjective in Hindi.
   संकेतवाचक विशेषण

• A demonstrative adjective is used to denote persons or things.
  Demonstrative Adjective का प्रयोग व्यक्तियों या वस्तुओं को सूचित करने के लिए किया जाता है।
• This, That, These, Such, Those, etc are used to denote a particular person or place.
  This, That, These, Such, Those etc किसी विशेष व्यक्ति या स्थान को दर्शाने के लिए उपयोग किए जाते हैं।

6. Interrogative Adjective in Hindi.
   प्रश्नवाचक विशेषण

• Interrogative adjectives are used in a sentence to describe the comprehension of the question.
  Interrogative adjectives का प्रयोग वाक्य में प्रश्न का बोध कराने के लिए किया जाता है।
• Words (What, Whose, Which) act as an interrogative adjective while asking questions.
  What, Whose, Which जैसे शब्द जो प्रश्न करते हुए एडजेक्टिव का कार्य करते हैं, interrogative adjective कहलाते है।

7. Emphasizing Adjective in Hindi.
   बलाघातसूचक विशेषण

• The adjective which is used to put special emphasis on a noun in a sentence is called Emphasising Adjectives.
  जिस एडजेक्टिव का प्रयोग वाक्य में किसी नाउन पर विशेष दबाव डालने के लिए किया जाता है उसे हम Emphasising Adjectives कहते है।
• Words like Own, Very, and Quite which are used to emphasize the noun are called emphasizing adjectives.
  Own, Very, Quite जैसे शब्द जो नाउन को emphasise करने हेतु प्रयुक्त होते है, emphasising adjective कहलाते हैं।

8. Exclamatory Adjective in Hindi
   विस्मयादिवोधक विशेषण

• When What is used in a word like an Adjective in an Exclamatory Sentence. It is called an exclamatory adjective.
  जब किसी शब्द मे What का इस्तेमाल Adjective की तरह किसी Exclamatory Sentence में होता है। उसे exclamatory adjective कहते है।

9. Possessive Adjective in Hindi
   सम्बन्धसूचक विशेषण

• The adjective which is used to describe the authority or relation is called the Possessive Adjective.
  जिस एडजेक्टिव का प्रयोग अधिकार या सम्बन्ध बताने के लिए किया जाता है। वह Possessive Adjective कहलाता है।
• My, his, her, your, their, etc. are possessive adjective. which expresses the right of the noun. My, his, her, your, their इत्यादि Possessive Adjective है। जो नाउन का अधिकार व्यक्त करते है।
