The formula for calculating average velocity is:
Average velocity = displacement / time
- where displacement is the change in position or the distance traveled in a particular direction, and time is the duration it takes to cover that distance.
Mathematically, average velocity can be represented as:
v = (Δx / Δt)……. (1)
- where v is the average velocity, Δx is the displacement of the object, and Δt is the time interval over which the displacement occurs.
